Elijah Christopher is 22 Months Old :)

Hard to believe it, but my baby is getting closer and closer to the 2 year mark! Here's a picture of him doing one of his favorite things-shopping! Elijah loves to shop at home with his toys, and out in real stores with Mom. He even likes to help pick out clothes for Mom by grabbing things off the rack...
Not sure of his height, but Elijah weighs 22 pounds which puts him below the 5th percentile for weight at his age. He is still in size 4 diapers, and wearing 18-24 month/2T clothes. Most of his 18 month pants/shorts fit him okay, but most of his summer clothes is 24 month/2T, and to keep them from falling down I have to put a safety pin in them. Not the greatest look ever, but it does the job.
Elijah knows what sounds a cat, dog, monkey, cow, chicken, frog, bird, bear, Elijah, Seth, Mom, and Dad make. He also knows all his letters and can identify most of the foods in his shopping cart. He can count to ten with help, and knows most of The Alphabet song. He loves to go outside and shoot hoops, mow the lawn, play on the swingset, go for a walk or bike ride, or just sit on the front step with Mom. Inside he likes to read books, play with toys that make a lot of noise, and play with his Duplos (and shop, of course).
Here is a picture of Seth because with his new haircut he is starting to look so much like his big brother!

Seth's 1st Haircut!

Last Friday, Seth got his first haircut. His hair was getting pretty close to being in his eyes, and it usually looked pretty crazy, so I figured we'd give it a whirl. I brought him to Sandy Nagle at HeShe's-she is my stylist and has done most of Elijah's haircuts. Elijah also got his haircut, and he went first. Elijah did well, and sat pretty still for most of it. Seth also did well, but bobbed his head A LOT, making things a little more difficult for Sandy, but she still did an awesome job. Here's what he looked like before, and "action" shot, and an after picture-with a goofy face...

Seth Robert is 5 months old!

Seth turned 5 months on Saturday, and celebrated his day by going to Melissa and Derek's wedding. Seth was really good during the wedding and reception, but Elijah wasn't. During the wedding he was very antsy, and played with all the books and took everything out of the diaper bag. At the reception, he wouldn't share with Logan (a boy from daycare) and was touching everything that he shouldn't. He grabbed the salt and pepper shakers, and was banging them together when the salt shaker broke. He didn't get cut, but we had salt EVERYWHERE (and little pieces of glass). Here's a pic of Melissa and the boys. Elijah did enjoy the bubbles, and I thought he might go out and dance with all the other kids because they had a bubble machine blowing bubbles on the dance floor, but he wouldn't go. We left a little after 8:30 because Elijah needed to go to bed-Chris and I couldn't handle his crankiness anymore!!
More about Seth at 5 months... He continues to be a very smiley boy, and laughs and talks a lot too. He still enjoys the exersaucer and the bouncer, though I think it's the toys on them that he likes most. He rolls all over the place, and between his rolling and his pulling/pushing himself around, he can get from one end of the living room to the other. Lately he hasn't been sleeping through the night, but has instead been getting up between 3:00 and 5:00. He's still eating 4-5oz every 3-5 hours, so maybe we need to bump up the size of his bottles. Now that the weather is a little nicer, we go outside to play and take walks. He seems to enjoy both a lot, so hopefully the weather will be good to us so we can spend a lot of time outside.
Elijah continues to be a great brother, and is slowly learning to share. Here's Seth wearing Elijah's sunglasses. Elijah tried to put them on Seth by himself, but I was a little worried about Seth's eyes being poked out, so I helped him out. Seth just left them on and smiled lots for the camera-such a silly boy!! When Seth had Elijah's ice cream cone (a toy one), that didn't go over near as well. Elijah was ticked when he saw his brother with it, and ended up in time out because he threw a fit when I wouldn't give it back to him. Here's Seth "eating" ice cream.

Adding New Pics

I've been adding new pics to the blog, so take a look! Have fun, hope you enjoy!

A Great Way to Wake Up!

This morning my sweet boys were still sleeping at 7:30. I remember waking up, looking at the clock, then laying my head back down and enjoying it. Then about 10 minutes later, I hear talking. I waited a couple minutes, then when into the boys' room to get Elijah. When I walk in, I find Seth at the end of his crib on his belly looking at Elijah with a HUGE smile on his face, and Elijah standing in the corner of his talking to Seth. It was soooo cute! I really hope the way these two interact with each other is a sign of things to come-if so they're going to be best friends! :)

On Vacation!

Seth is on his first vacation, and doing great! We are at Breezy Point, MN which is a 4 hour drive from Grafton. We stopped in Grand Forks for gas and snacks, and Bemidji for supper at McDonald's, so it took us a little over 5 hours. We left Grafton around 2:20, and got to our room a little after 7:00. Both boys were great during the car ride, so that helped out a lot!
When we got to the resort, I took Elijah swimming. I wasn't sure how it would go because the last time I took him (when I was at drill in February), he freaked out and started screaming when his feet touched the water. He got a little upset, but I just put him in his floaty in the pool and started pushing him around. He loved it! The only problem was some other kids were playing with little Splash Bombs, and Elijah wanted to play with them. When we went to Wal-Mart the next day, we bought him some though they were not as good as everyone else's balls.
On Saturday Seth got to try swimming, and he loved it too! We had days where we'd either hold him in the water with us or put him in his floaty, and then there were other days where we'd just sit on the side of the pool with our feet in. He didn't care either way, as long as he got to play in the water. He would get a HUGE smile on his face every time his feet were in the water, and sometimes he'd even kick his feet.
The first night both boys woke up in the middle of the night, but so far every other night they've been sleeping through the night. Elijah has even been taking fantastic naps, and has been going down really easy. Aside from the minor temper tantrum here and there, Elijah has been really good!
Right now Seth is sleeping the car seat and Elijah is playing basketball with Dad, so I better finish this while I can! More later.
