I've been posting pictures, but not updates so here goes. Seth has been completely off bottles since the beginning of February. I'm really proud of him since he went from drinking very little from a sippy cup to being bottle free in just a couple weeks. We actually got rid of all the daytime bottles in one weekend. I decided I'd had enough of the bottles, so on Friday, January 30 Seth got his last day bottle at daycare. It was a struggle Friday after daycare, as Seth is used to getting a bottle as soon as we come home and taking a nap, but after a couple hours he gave in and drank his milk from the sippy (whole milk-we started switching him after his 1st Birthday but did the switch a little slower than we did with Elijah because of Seth's tummy issues with formula). I let him have his bedtime bottle for about a week and a half after that, and then I decided to try to get rid of that bottle too. He actually gave it up with no fight-go Seth! Seth is a eater-he eats pretty much anything, and way more than Elijah does. Elijah continues to be a picky eater, though he's starting to eat some meat at Kim's, and he even ate a little of the hamburger in the hotdish we had the other night-he's never done that!
Elijah is going through an aggressive phase (at least I hope it's a phase...). He hits Seth and the kids at daycare, and will swing at me when I tell him no. We're working on it, and he knows he has to go in timeout and apologize to who he hit, so now after I tell him to go to timeout he'll say he's sorry right away, hoping to avoid timeout.
Elijah is a huge talker now, and tells Kim his life story over lunch. Last Thursday he was telling her that Seth was his brother and that he loved him. Too bad he can't show Seth some loving more often... Elijah is obsessed with stop signs, yield signs, and traffic lights. That's all I hear about anytime we drive anywhere-it gets a little annoying after awhile.
Seth talks, but not so much with words we understand. He says Mama, Dada, Elijah (li-jah), Steve, tickle, kitty, puppy, Papa, and a whole bunch of jibberish. Sometimes he'll walk up to Elijah and yell at him-it's pretty funny. Seth knows what he's saying, so I guess that's all that matters.
Both boys have been battling colds off and on all month, but hopefully they stay with just colds. I have pneumonia, the contagious kind of course. Not sure where I picked it up, but I really really hope the boys don't end up with it.
The boys go to bed around 8:00, and get up anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30. They still have a blast in the tub together, making bathtime take almost an hour because neither one wants to get out. They love dancing, playing with toys, playing basketball, going to basketball games, and just being silly together. I'm looking forward to summer time so we can spend some time outside playing and going for bike rides.
Elijah is in 2T clothes, size 5 shoes, and size 4 diapers. Seth is in size 12 months clothes, still wearing the soft soled shoes (so size 12 months), and size 3 diapers.
